Student Achievers - Paige

Paige

My name is Paige. I am eighteen years old and have a keen interest in Australian politics, social injustices, and Doctor Who. I live with my parents in the isolated rural town of Lock in the middle of the Eyre Peninsula. The local school, which I attended, has around 65-70 students, and thus I began my senior years at Open Access College.

My experience at 91自拍...

I began my schooling with Open Access in 2012 in Year eleven and continued with 91自拍 during Year twelve. As I was the only Year eleven/twelve at my school, I had no other students around me to discuss, compare and contrast as I entered my final years of school. I completed all of my Stage 1 and Stage 2 subjects through 91自拍 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as it allowed me to study the subjects that I am passionate about and have a genuine interest in.

I believe that studying through 91自拍 teaches you the importance of independence and organisation, and provides you with the foundations of independent learning ready for higher education.

I suffer from a mild form of social anxiety and so talking on the telephone is a difficult task for me. By studying through 91自拍, I was able to learn how to deal with my anxiety and somewhat overcome it, and now feel confident in social situations.

And today...

Today, I have graduated my final year of high school and plan on studying a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) at Flinders University in 2014. I am looking forward to study Women鈥檚 Studies and Sociology (two subjects I studied at 91自拍) as electives. I am unsure of the career I鈥檇 like to have in the future; I鈥檓 still deciding if I would like to work within the mental health field or within politics.

Open Access may seem daunting at first, but the teachers and staff are extremely supportive and are flexible to your learning needs. You don鈥檛 need to be independent and self-motivated prior to studying at 91自拍 in order to succeed because you develop the life-long skills and anyone is capable of studying by distance.
